In what is perhaps one of the most significant energy sector moves in recent years, Sergii Koretskyi has left his post as CEO of Ukraine’ s state gas company, Naftogaz, to become the country’ s latest Prime Minister.
He took the helm of Naftogaz in May last year, where he rebuilt Ukraine’ s gas stocks amid waves of Russian strikes on the country’ s energy infrastructure. Parliament confirmed him as PM with 289 votes in favour, tasking him with steering the country through what officials fear will be the war’ s harshest winter yet.
