Pedro left EDP after 19 years to lead ENGIE’ s renewables push. He spent close to two decades at the Portuguese utility, most recently on its executive board with responsibility for Iberia, Asia-Pacific and global energy management. Now he joins ENGIE as Executive Vice President, taking charge of the firm’ s renewable and flexible power ambitions.

Fawaz‘ Fuzzy’ Bitar is taking the top job at the Energy Institute after years of service at bp. He announced his retirement from bp after nearly four decades, a career that took him from North Sea platforms to Colombian jungles and Caspian oil fields. He will become CEO of the Energy Institute, the leading membership body for global energy professionals, at the start of 2027.
