Few solar projects have grown quite like Copper Mountain. Situated in Nevada’ s Mojave Desert, the facility was developed in five stages by Sempra Generation, with each new phase steadily increasing its output.
By the time the fourth phase was complete, Copper Mountain had become Nevada’ s largest solar power facility, a title it held until the arrival of the Gemini Solar Project in 2024. It comprises around nine million First Solar photovoltaic panels, making it one of the most extensive solar developments in North America.
