The new US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said off the back of CERAWeek comments:“ If you want more energy in the United States and you want more investment in the United States, we’ ve got to be able to build things again.”
So what do oil execs want from the President during the Trump 2.0 administration?
“ To accelerate the technology at the pace that the US needs it to accelerate to start having a positive impact on our energy independence, we need 45Q to happen and to stay in place,” Vicki Hollub, Oxy’ s CEO says, referencing the tax credit that is a federal incentive for removing the greenhouse gas from the air.
For its expected strong growth across the pond under the Trump administration, bp CEO Murray Auchincloss says regulatory reform and faster permitting for energy projects will solidify its strength.
“ We think this is a strong chance to help the US get back to putting construction forward, getting regulatory reform in place, getting faster permitting.”
