THE ENERGY INTERVIEW

The energy landscape is undergoing a major transformation. Once considered a luxury, electricity has become essential in our daily lives, and critical to a vast array of industries and infrastructures. This ongoing transformation, driven by decentralisation, decarbonisation and digitalisation, is redefining energy management around the world.

Schneider Electric is a global energy technology company specialising in energy management and automation. It helps customers electrify, automate and digitalise processes to optimise energy production and consumption, and reduce environmental impact through advanced technology. Frédéric Godemel, Executive Vice President of Energy Management at Schneider Electric, leads the organisation’ s efforts across various sectors including homes, buildings, data centers and infrastructure worldwide.
The state of global energy“ Electricity is becoming increasingly decentralised, decarbonised and much more critical for various processes,” Frédéric says.“ Increasing HVAC demands, plus the rapid increase in demand for electric vehicle charging and data centre expansion all depend heavily on reliable, affordable electricity.”
He explains that this shift requires a rethinking not only of energy supply, but also how we manage energy demand, particularly when considering the role that digital technology and AI can play.
