At present , many wave and tidal projects tested in EMEC ’ s waters are reaching the advanced stages of research and development . The MeyGen project , the largest fully consented tidal stream project in Europe , is currently installing full-scale industrial turbines in the inner sound of Scotland ’ s Pentland Firth following prototype testing at EMEC .
