The state of pumped storage in the UK Together, Dinorwig and its neighbouring Ffestiniog station – also owned by First Hydro – provide around 2.1GW of capacity, roughly 74 % of all UK pumped storage hydro.
The UK’ s two other hydropower plants – Cruachan and Foyers – are in the Scottish highlands and were both built long before Dinorwig came online in 1984. In fact, Dinorwig is the UK’ s youngest pumped storage facility, meaning it has been more than four decades since such a project was built.
Delphine is an enthusiastic leader with 30 years experience in the energy sector. She began her illustrious career in Paris but now lives in the UK full time.
